Alabama Singer Kirbi Stuns on The Voice With 4-Chair Turn: “Lord Have Mercy”

Did The Voice save its most jaw-dropping audition for the very end? Viewers in Alabama certainly think so.

Alabama Singer Kirbi Stuns on The Voice With 4-Chair Turn: “Lord Have Mercy”

On Tuesday night, Florence native Kirbi full name Savanna Kirby stepped onto the stage and delivered a heartfelt rendition of “God Only Knows” by For King & Country. By the time she hit her final note, the room had shifted. All four celebrity coaches Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Michael Bublé had slammed their buttons, eager to claim her for their teams.

Coaches Rave: “We Wait All Day for Voices Like Yours”

“You’ve got the whole package,” McEntire gushed. “You’re beautiful, you sing beautifully, and you sound incredibly grounded for someone so young.”

From the very first second, I was in. That delivery? Next level.”

Bublé praised her rich tone and artistry: “If I heard you on the radio, I’d instantly know it was Kirbi. You could master any genre: jazz, pop, country, all of it.”

Even Snoop Dogg, who doesn’t hand out compliments lightly, was moved. “The music you chose, the way you stand on your faith, that's beautiful. In a world full of negativity, you’re choosing to bring light. I applaud that.”

Overwhelmed, Kirbi could only smile and say, “Lord have mercy on my soul.”

From Florence Farm Life to Nashville Dreams

Farmer Wants a Wife' Season 3: Meet the Farmers!

Kirbi now lives in Nashville, but her roots run deep in Florence, Alabama, where her family owns Flower Chick Farm, a floral haven filled with blooms, animals, and greenhouses. The show even gave viewers a glimpse of the property and Kirbi’s favorite chicken, Cruella.

Family and faith remain at the heart of her journey. In her audition package, Kirbi spoke tearfully about her late grandmother, who supported her music career through two decades of battling cancer. “She would even skip her treatments to come to my shows,” Kirbi said. “She was the most amazing woman I’ve ever known. I miss her so much, but I know she’d want me to keep going.”

Kirbi’s path to music wasn’t straightforward. She once pursued a career in physical therapy, but after a choir teacher discovered her voice in sixth grade, music slowly began to pull her back in. Performances, writing sessions, and even a set at the Riptide Festival in Fort Lauderdale in front of 15,000 people cemented her calling.

Choosing Niall Horan’s Team

After hearing the coaches’ impassioned pitches, Kirbi ultimately chose Niall Horan as her coach, a move that could set her up for a powerful run through the competition.

Kirbi is now the second Alabama artist this season to earn a coveted four-chair turn, following Jazz McKenzie from Birmingham, who wowed in the premiere episode with a Tina Turner classic. Together, the two singers have given Alabama viewers plenty of reason to cheer this season.

The Road Ahead on The Voice

Of course, a four-chair turn is just the beginning. Kirbi will now face the Battles, followed by the Knockouts and Playoffs, before she has a chance at the live shows. But judging by her poise, raw talent, and clear sense of self, she’s already proving she belongs on the big stage.

“But I want this opportunity to prove to myself, and to the world, that I do have what it takes. I’m ready.”

Where to Follow Kirbi

Fans can keep up with Kirbi on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube, where she describes herself as a “musician, Christ follower, and powerhouse singer-songwriter.”

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 7 p.m. CT on NBC, and streams next-day on Peacock.
