ACC expert picks 2024: Cal among most underrated teams in Conference

By Chip Patterson, CBS Sports: Conference realignment has become a major topic in college athletics, and as the ACC heads into the 2024 season, it finds itself at the center of these changes.

With the Pac-12 effectively dissolved, the ACC has welcomed two new teams from the West Coast—Cal and Stanford—transforming it into an “All Coasts Conference.” Additionally, SMU has finally rejoined college football’s top tier after a lengthy absence.

At the same time, the ACC is embroiled in a high-profile legal dispute with Florida State and Clemson over its so-called "iron-clad" grant of rights, casting uncertainty over the future of these two storied programs within the conference.
