Trump Nominates John Ratcliffe as CIA Director

President-elect Donald Trump announced Tuesday that he has selected former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe to lead the CIA in his second administration.

Following his victory in the 2024 presidential election, Trump has begun revealing key appointments for his upcoming administration. On Truth Social, the former president issued a statement touting Ratcliffe’s accomplishments in recent years, calling him a “fearless fighter” for the American people.

“From exposing the fake Russian collusion narrative as a Clinton campaign operation to uncovering the FBI’s abuse of civil liberties at the FISA Court, John Ratcliffe has always been a warrior for truth and honesty with the American people," Trump said. "When 51 intelligence officials were lying about Hunter Biden’s laptop, there was one person, John Ratcliffe, who told the truth to the American people."
