New THC Beverage Set to Launch Across Alabama
[TheChronicle] - Starting July 15, the greater Birmingham metro area will see the arrival of Sunbird, a locally-produced THC seltzer. Following this launch, a broader distribution throughout Alabama is planned.
Sunbird, a flagship product of Sunbev, is being distributed through a new partnership with Alabev. This announcement coincides with the introduction of Sunbird's redesigned can.
Sunbev, established earlier this year, specializes in hemp-derived THC beverages that are zero sugar, zero carb, and zero calorie. The drink features low doses of CBG and hemp-derived Delta 9, both of which have mild intoxicating effects.
The brains behind Sunbev are Birmingham craft beer veterans Harris Stewart, Hunter Lake, and Brad Reed. Stewart is the founder of TrimTab Brewing Co., Lake helped start Avondale Brewing Co., and Reed was the award-winning marketing director for TrimTab. They officially launched the company in April.
Originally named Altitude Beverage, the founders rebranded to focus on the Sunbird product line.
CEO Harris Stewart expressed excitement about the new partnership with Alabev, stating, "We are so grateful to the limited number of accounts that have gotten Sunbird off the ground. Now we are able to enter a whole different level of scale, expanding Sunbird to a much wider base of accounts and customers and to try and achieve our mission of a more healthy, creative, and inspired world. To say this is a major milestone for us would be a massive understatement.”
Looking ahead, Sunbev plans to diversify its offerings with a range of products including medical marijuana, nootropic beverages, and other non-alcoholic drinks.
The revamped Sunbird can features a fresh logo and design, sporting a green hue that highlights its hemp origins. The design blends a modern aesthetic with vintage touches, described as “somewhere between the country club and old Las Vegas.”
COO Hunter Lake commented, “The new can design is a testament to our dedication to quality and brand excellence. We believe the refreshed look will resonate with a larger variety of people, providing a more unique and creative brand mark that stands out in the market.”
