An anti-Trump journalist argues that the Democratic outrage over Trump's MSG rally misses the mark, predicting that the GOP will have its most diverse base ever.

Ohio journalist Ray Marcano discussed on a livestream Monday evening that the Democratic backlash over Donald Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden misses the essential appeal of some of his comments.

Thousands of Trump supporters packed Madison Square Garden in New York City on Sunday to hear the former president speak, along with a roster of Republican figures, including businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, former Democratic Representative Tulsi Gabbard, and Daily Caller co-founder Tucker Carlson. During the show “2Way TONIGHT,” host Mark Halperin introduced Marcano to the panel and asked for his insights on Trump’s campaign as Election Day approaches in less than 10 days.

“I believe the rally on Sunday was arguably the highlight of his campaign. I’ve found it amusing how the mainstream media has reacted. This was Trump in his element, and he really made an impact—exactly what he aims to do,” Marcano said.

“The outrage over Tony Hinchcliffe's Puerto Rico joke misses the point. If you know Hinchcliffe's work, he often pushes boundaries and defiantly tells the woke crowd, ‘I’ll say whatever I want during my performances, and you can’t silence me.’ That message resonates with many, especially within bro culture,” he added.

After the Madison Square Garden rally, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe faced significant backlash from corporate media and Democrats for his joke comparing Puerto Rico to a “floating island of garbage.”
