Tragic Accident Claims Life of Union Grove Woman on Alabama Highway

In a heartbreaking incident on Friday afternoon, a woman from Union Grove lost her life in a tragic accident in Morgan County. Megan S. Persiani, 30, was walking along U.S. 231 when she was struck by a 2017 Chrysler 300, as reported by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
The collision occurred near Staid Road, approximately one mile south of Lacey’s Spring. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Persiani was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Senior State Trooper Brandon Bailey.
The 32-year-old driver of the Chrysler, a resident of Arab, was transported to Huntsville Hospital for medical attention.
As news of the accident spread, Persiani’s friends and family took to social media to express their sorrow. One poignant post read, “I feel so numb right now. It’s hard to believe you’re truly gone. This doesn’t seem real. I love you and miss you dearly.”
