A junior high student in Huntsville was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly attempting to bring two handguns to school, according to authorities.
The weapon detection system employed by Huntsville City Schools alerted McNair Junior High School that a firearm was present in the student's backpack, a spokesperson for the Huntsville Police Department told WAFF.
A search of the backpack revealed the two handguns. No further information has been released at this time.
