Nick Saban explains biggest issue for Alabama so far

Nick Saban addressed Alabama's main issue this season on Saturday during ESPN’s "College GameDay."

“To me, the biggest problem with Alabama so far has been their ‘big-little’,” he said.

He elaborated, “I’ve always disliked when our offense plays ‘big-little.’ You can make a lot of big plays, but you also end up with many negative plays and inefficiencies—sacks, fumbles, penalties—things that put you behind the chains and hinder your ability to sustain long drives and control the game's tempo.”

So far this season, Alabama has been penalized 20 times, averaging 89.5 yards in penalties per game. They've also lost four out of six fumbles. However, Saban shared some positive news.

“I think with the offensive line improvements today—both tackles are set to play, which they didn’t last week—this should make a significant difference,” he noted. “Teams that struggle usually have issues up front, so hopefully Alabama can turn that around today.”
