Garth Brooks and his wife, Trisha Yearwood, sold their Tennessee mansion just hours before a lawsuit was filed against him by his former makeup artist, who accused the country star of rape and sexual harassment.

The couple finalized the sale of their expansive Brentwood property, known for featuring in over 100 episodes of Yearwood’s Food Network show "Trisha’s Southern Kitchen," one day prior to the allegations surfacing. They initially listed the home for $4.5 million last year but eventually sold it for $3.34 million after several price reductions.

In the lawsuit, the makeup artist, referred to as Jane Roe, alleges that Brooks raped her in a hotel room in 2019 while they were in Los Angeles for his Grammy tribute to Sam Moore. She detailed further allegations of assault and harassment, claiming Brooks groped her and made unwanted sexual advances.

Roe began working with Yearwood in 1999 and transitioned to Brooks’ team in 2017, continuing for two years despite the alleged abuse, which she stated was out of financial necessity.

In anticipation of legal action, Brooks filed a preemptive lawsuit in Mississippi last month, seeking to prevent Roe from proceeding with her claims. He has labeled her allegations as “false” and accused her of extortion, defamation, and emotional distress.

Shortly after the lawsuit was filed, Brooks released a statement saying he had been under significant pressure for months, facing threats and lies aimed at forcing him to pay millions.
