During a town hall event on Monday in Michigan, moderator Maria Shriver disclosed that the questions asked of Vice President Kamala Harris had been “predetermined.”
This revelation came after an audience member inquired about the possibility of asking questions directly. In response, Shriver frankly noted that the audience was not permitted to pose their own questions, as they had been set in advance of the event.
“You’re not, unfortunately we have some predetermined questions. And hopefully I’ll be able to ask some of the questions that might be in your head, I hope so,” Shriver said.
However, a member of the audience managed to pose questions to Harris, one of which addressed the issue of gun violence and her plans to tackle it. In her response, Harris pivoted to discuss the normalization of active shooter drills in schools.
