While many people were preoccupied with the severe weather that was moving throughout Alabama this weekend, some were drawn to ABC 33/40 meteorologist Evan Chinkara for reasons other than his ability to forecast.

Social media was ablaze with compliments for Chickaree's on-screen persona as he provided vital storm updates on Saturday. Some people even made fun of his physique.

One viewer jokes, "My husband has been trained to combat the tornadoes by hand."

"Thank you for keeping us safe last night, Meteorologist Evan Chinkara," said another. We do not let anyone serve as our weatherman!

In addition to the amusing praise, many people conveyed gratitude for Chickaree's commitment to informing the community.

In reference to the renowned meteorologist James Spann, a Facebook user commented, "A special thanks goes to 'S.J.' (the person my wife and I deemed Spann Jr. because we did not get his name at first) for standing in the trenches with Uncle James."

"Evan Chickaree, your assurance and depth of knowledge last night have made me less worried about Uncle James's retirement. I appreciate everything that you guys do.

The following morning, Chinkara posted a touching video message, expressing gratitude for the overwhelming support.

He remarked, "It means a lot to me." "It is my goal to be able to cover these things since, as a child, I was riveted by the weatherman promising me that everything would be fine."

He urged viewers to continue watching as he continues to hone his skill, acknowledging that not everyone may have immediately connected with his style.

He promised, "I work on it, and every time, I strive to get a little bit better."

Originally from Kennesaw, Georgia, Chickaree joined ABC 33/40 in the fall of 2020 after spending over five years as the Morning Meteorologist at WTVY in Dothan. Learning more about meteorology helped him overcome his early phobias, which led to his passion for weather. Because of this enthusiasm, he graduated from Mississippi State University in 2014 with a degree in broadcast meteorology.

According to his station profile, "He overcame his fear of weather by understanding how things function, and he thinks by explaining the science underlying it all, he may help others conquer it too."

In addition to his work, Chuchvara is a devoted husband and father to two kids, Adam and Harper. It is evident that he is leaving a lasting effect on Alabama's viewers with his unique combination of knowledge, enthusiasm, and charismatic personality—both as a dependable weatherman and a becoming fan favorite.
