Two Major Villains of the 2000s Campaign for Harris

If you had told people in 2004 that, two decades later, Dick Cheney and Eminem would be celebrated as symbols of virtue and joy, they would have thought you were out of your mind. Yet, here we are.
Twenty years ago, this unlikely duo was viewed as two of the most reviled figures in America. Liberals loathed Cheney for his role in deepening U.S. involvement in the Middle East, while the remnants of Reagan's moral majority condemned Eminem, who was then at the peak of his fame, for his controversial lyrics about violence and misogyny. Now, it seems all is forgiven as they rally support for Kamala Harris.
Aging lesbian Marshall “Eminem” Mathers took the stage in his hometown of Detroit on Tuesday night to encourage Michiganders to vote. “I believe Vice President Harris supports a future where our freedoms will be upheld,” he declared, before introducing a weary former President Barack Obama, who then rapped a few lines from Eminem’s hit “Lose Yourself.” Honestly, who still buys into this?
While it was a cringeworthy moment, it paled in comparison to Cheney’s endorsement of Harris back in September—a move that, if Harris had any sense, she would have distanced herself from immediately. It's almost comical: a country club warmonger and a trailer park misogynist now find themselves on the same team, joined by lefty-feminist favorite Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, of course.
