Southern Living has spotlighted an Alabama city in its latest list of “under-the-radar” destinations to visit this summer, praising its rich history, unique attractions, and more.
Montgomery stands out among the eight Southern cities featured on Southern Living’s list, earning recognition as the only Alabama destination. The magazine highlighted Montgomery's unique historical attractions that focus on the state’s significant role in the Civil Rights movement. Noteworthy sites include the Freedom Monument Sculpture Park, the National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and the Legacy Museum.
The article also recommends exploring Montgomery Whitewater, which boasts the world’s most advanced man-made whitewater course. Additional must-see attractions are The Hank Williams Museum, the F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum, and the scenic Montgomery Riverwalk.
