A 64-year-old man was found dead next to a bicycle in a drainage ditch in west Birmingham.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has identified the man as Darrell Stephens. His body was discovered at around 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday in the 1600 block of Matt Leonard Drive.
Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates reported that Stephens' body, along with the bicycle, was found in a drainage culvert at the bottom of a small ravine near the road.
The investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause and manner of his death.
