Victor Davis Hanson Explains Why He Thinks Doug Emhoff Avoids Cancellation by the ‘Me Too Movement’

On his podcast Tuesday, Hoover Institution senior fellow Victor Davis Hanson stated that Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff has managed to sidestep "Me Too" cancellation, largely due to President Joe Biden's history.

A report by the Daily Mail on October 2 included claims from three friends of Emhoff's ex-girlfriend, alleging that he slapped her during a 2012 alcohol-fueled altercation. While Hanson emphasized that the truth of these accusations is uncertain, he suggested that Emhoff would likely have faced significant backlash during the "Me Too" movement, similar to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who dealt with sexual assault allegations during his confirmation process.
