A Morgan County jury has found Frederic Rogers guilty of capital murder for the 'Seven Deadly Sins' killings in Valhermoso Springs, Alabama, involving the deaths of seven people in 2020.
A Morgan County jury found Frederic Rogers guilty of three counts of capital murder on Wednesday.
According to news, the jury took about four hours over two days to reach the verdict.
Rogers was convicted of capital murder for killing two or more people, murder during a second-degree burglary, and capital murder during arson. However, he was found not guilty of a robbery charge.
Rogers, 26, from Woodville, was arrested in 2020 and charged with the June 4, 2020, murders that took place in a house on Talucah Road in Valhermoso Springs, located in eastern Morgan County.
Testimonies revealed that Rogers, along with John Michael Legg, 23, shot and killed four men and three women: Jeramy Roberts, 31, of Athens; James Wayne Benford, 22, of Decatur; William Zane Hodgin, 18, of Somerville; Roger Lee Jones Jr., 20, of Decatur; Tammy England Muzzey, 45; Emily Brooke Payne, 21; and Dakota Green, 17, of Valhermoso Springs.
Authorities reported that Rogers and Legg had started the "Seven Deadly Sins" motorcycle club, with two of the victims being members. Around 60 spent bullet casings were found at the scene, and a witness testified that all the victims died from multiple gunshot wounds. A small dog was also shot and killed.
