Alabama Businessman Invites Trump to Alabama-Georgia Game: “It Will Be Amazing”
Alabama businessman Ric Mayers invites former President Donald Trump to the Alabama-Georgia game at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Learn about their unique connection and the big event planned for Saturday.
Former President Donald Trump is set to visit Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday as a special guest of Ric Mayers, an Alabama businessman. Mayers, a 39-year-old petroleum executive from Vernon, met his wife at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, where they later got married.
Mayers invited Trump to attend the Alabama vs. Georgia game, and Trump agreed. Mayers pitched the idea to one of Trump’s sons during a visit to Mar-a-Lago, where Mayers is a member. At the time, Trump was attending a rally elsewhere.
Mayers recalled, “I told him it would be the biggest game of the year, and he’ll walk into a stadium filled with 100,000 fans cheering ‘Trump, Trump, Trump’ or ‘Fight, Fight, Fight.’ It will be an amazing experience.”
Trump agreed but asked for a formal invitation, which Mayers sent. Although there was initially a scheduling conflict, Trump's plans changed, and he confirmed his attendance in Tuscaloosa. Mayers immediately informed University of Alabama Athletic Director Greg Byrne, and preparations began.
Trump’s exact seating location in the stadium won’t be disclosed for security reasons, but he will attend as Mayers' guest. “They’ve gone the extra mile to ensure his safety,” Mayers noted.
Alabama Senators Katie Britt and Tommy Tuberville, ALGOP Chairman John Wahl, other Republican officials, and Mayers’ friends and family will join Trump in the box. “I’ll be sitting next to Trump, with my wife Chloe next to me, and my father beside her,” Mayers shared.
Mayers also arranged tickets for Trump’s guests and praised the University of Alabama for their support, saying, “They have all hands on deck.”
Mayers first met Trump at a private event held for Mo Brooks, where Trump introduced him to Chloe. They instantly connected and shared similar values and morals. The couple married in 2023, with Trump attending their wedding at Mar-a-Lago. “Chloe is a huge Trump fan, and he’s a very kind man,” Mayers said.
Mayers looks forward to the game, knowing Trump enjoys following both Alabama and Georgia teams. “He’s a big sports fan,” Mayers added.
