Nick Saban reveals what he texted Kirby Smart after Georgia’s loss to Alabama

Nick Saban shared during ESPN's "College GameDay" on Saturday that he texted Kirby Smart after Georgia's 41-34 loss to Alabama last week.

The revelation that the 72-year-old Saban reached out to anyone is noteworthy, but he also shared the content of his message to his former defensive coordinator at Alabama.

“I know how disappointed everyone in Georgia must be after the loss,” Saban said. “I texted Kirby after the game to remind him, ‘Hey, this isn’t the worst thing that could happen.’

“Many of our best teams experienced a loss at some point, but they bounced back because we had strong leadership that held everyone accountable to do what was necessary for success.”
