Playing Catch Up, Alabama State University Gets in the Game of Technology

{TheChronicle} –Alabama State University has unveiled the Paterson Court Digital Technology Center, a new initiative aimed at enhancing digital literacy among local residents.

The program, known as BRACCE (Broadening Access Through Community Connectivity and Education), is funded by a $2.9 million grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Eleven residents from the Paterson Court public housing community have already enrolled in the program.

ASU President Dr. Quinton Ross emphasized the transformative potential of the initiative, stating, "I truly believe that by expanding broadband access for these communities and establishing a digital technology center, we have an opportunity to change lives and help to form the greatest history makers for tomorrow."

Participants who complete the training program will receive a certificate, recognizing their new digital literacy skills.
