Casey's General Stores Expands with $1.1 Billion Acquisition of CEFCO Convenience Stores

Casey’s General Stores Inc. has announced a significant expansion through the acquisition of the owner of CEFCO Convenience Stores for $1.145 billion. This deal will add 198 stores and a dealer network to Casey's portfolio.

CEFCO operates 11 stores in Alabama, primarily around the Gulf Coast. With this acquisition, Casey’s will grow its presence to nearly 2,900 stores, extending its reach into Texas, Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi.

Fikes Wholesale, the parent company of CEFCO, started as a single station in Texas in 1952.

Based in Iowa, Casey’s General Stores currently runs over 2,650 convenience stores, making it the third-largest convenience-store retailer in the United States. The company is also the fourth-largest holder of liquor licenses and ranks as the fifth-largest pizza chain in the nation.
