An Ardmore man, identified as Jonathan Schutte, 33, was fatally shot by deputies after an exchange of gunfire in Hardin County, Tennessee.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) reported that the confrontation occurred Sunday evening in a parking lot on Tennessee 128 South in Savannah. Deputies approached Schutte’s vehicle when he suddenly exited and opened fire. In response, deputies returned fire, resulting in Schutte's death.
No deputies were injured in the incident, and their identities have not been disclosed.
The TBI is conducting a thorough investigation, with findings to be presented to 24th Judicial District Attorney General Neil Thompson for further review.
