Union workers at Stanford vote to authorize strike

Union workers at Stanford University voted on Wednesday, August 21, and Thursday, August 22, to authorize a potential strike following several months of stalled contract negotiations with the university. The Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 2007, which represents around 1,360 employees at Stanford, including custodians, maintenance workers, groundskeepers, life science technicians, and accelerator technologists, is seeking wage increases, improved health benefits, and other contract enhancements.
