Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Secures Ballot Access in Alabama with Record Number of Signatures
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has surpassed Alabama's signature requirements to secure his place on the November ballot. Learn about his campaign’s recent achievements and challenges.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., running as an independent candidate, has officially secured a spot on Alabama’s presidential ballot for the upcoming November election, his campaign confirmed.
On Thursday, Kennedy’s campaign submitted over 15,000 signatures in Montgomery, surpassing the required 5,000 by more than threefold, according to Stefanie Spear, the campaign's press representative.
Oluchi Onwuvuche, the campaign’s Alabama state director, emphasized, “We are offering Alabama voters a unique opportunity to shift the future of our nation towards a more positive direction.”
In addition to Alabama, Kennedy has also filed signatures in Arizona and Montana, as reported by his campaign.
Kennedy, alongside his running mate Nicole Shanahan—a California-based lawyer and philanthropist—is currently listed on the ballot in 22 states, including neighboring Tennessee, as noted by CBS.
This effort is part of Kennedy’s broader goal to be included on the ballot in all 50 states, a challenge he has estimated will require at least $15 million and over 1 million signatures.
Kennedy has faced several legal hurdles related to ballot access, including issues in New York where he is accused of inaccurately listing an address involved in ongoing litigation, according to PBS.
Earlier this year, Kennedy visited the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa as part of his campaign tour.
