Flag Football Now an Official AHSAA Sport, Bringing New Opportunities in Alabama

Nearly two years ago, on a chilly afternoon at Jordan-Hare Stadium at Auburn University, Auburn High School's flag football coach, Alison Link, was amazed by the large crowd gathered for her team's championship game. This was only the second time in history that the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) held a flag football state title game.

The Auburn High School football team was scheduled to play their Class 7A championship right after the flag football game. This drew a big audience, but the crowd stayed focused on the flag football match from start to finish, making it a memorable event for everyone involved.
