Deion Sanders Confronts Reporters, Calls Out CBS in Fiery Press Conference
Colorado football coach Deion Sanders refuses to answer CBS-affiliated reporter's questions, calling out the network during a fiery press conference.
Deion Sanders, the head coach of Colorado's football team, made headlines on Friday after a heated press conference where he openly refused to engage with a reporter affiliated with CBS. The tension in the room escalated when Sanders, without hesitation, declined to answer any questions from the local CBS affiliate, making it clear that his issue was with the network itself, not the individual journalist.
"I'm not doing anything with CBS. Next question," Sanders stated firmly. "This isn’t personal; it’s above that. I respect you, appreciate you, but this is about something bigger. They know what they did."
Even after the reporter clarified that he was local and not directly connected to the broader CBS network, Sanders stood his ground, reiterating, "You are who you are. CBS is CBS."
He further criticized the network's actions, describing them as "foul," though he didn’t elaborate on the specifics of his grievance. A university spokesperson later informed USA Today that they were unaware of the specific issue Sanders had with CBS.
The press conference didn’t end there. Sanders also directed his frustrations at Denver Post columnist Sean Keeler, questioning his seemingly critical stance towards the coach.
"Why do you always come at us like this? What did we do?" Sanders asked Keeler. "What happened to make you feel this way?"
Sanders, who wrapped up his first year in Boulder with a 4-8 record, didn’t shy away from confronting those he felt were unfairly targeting him or his program, making it clear that he’s ready to defend his team and himself against any perceived slights.
