Oklahoma’s top education official is aiming to purchase 55,000 Bibles for public schools, specifying that each copy must include the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. These documents are not typically found in standard Bibles but are included in one endorsed by former President Donald Trump.

This initiative is part of Republican State Superintendent Ryan Walters’ ongoing push to require Bibles in every classroom, a move that has faced opposition from some of Oklahoma’s largest school districts.
