Microsoft Pays $330M for Mountain View Campus, Its Bay Area Employment Hub

Microsoft has paid $330 million to purchase a major tech campus in Mountain View, according to the Mercury News. The campus, located at 1045 La Avenida St., has been used by Microsoft as an office and research hub.

The transaction, an all-cash deal, was completed through an affiliate of Mission West Properties, which previously leased the 33.3-acre site to Microsoft for several years before selling it this week.

This acquisition is reportedly the largest real estate deal in Santa Clara County this year by dollar amount and one of the largest in the Bay Area in 2024. Since 2017, Microsoft has been actively expanding its property portfolio in the Bay Area, adding this campus to its growing list of acquisitions.
